We are going on vacation this Christmas – New Year holiday season, and I have been planning it for weeks now. Normally I would avoid airplane travel during holiday season, especially if I am going with family and kids. Higher ticket price, more airport crowds, longer check-in queue and some times more delays are some of the reasons I prefer to go somewhere within driving distance during peak season.

This time, however, I notice that my kids have not gone anywhere throughout the year. The last time we had vacation was last New Year holiday at a resort in Puncak, West Java, which is about two hours drive from home. After that we have not had any family trip again, even during the long school holiday on June-July because I got to go to London for office work. That makes me feel that I owe my kids a great family vacation before this year ends, so I plan to bring them to a new place away from home, probably abroad. Hence we got to use airplane this time.

I have not chosen our destination though, got three options: Bali, Singapore or Manado, and I already booked our plane tickets to those 3 places since last month. I still need to sort some things out before I decide where we are going to this holiday. Once decided, I will issue the tickets as soon as possible, and will make a post about it! Good thing that my company own a travel agent, so ticket and hotel bookings are relatively easy tasks for me, even during peak season.

So for now there is nothing much I can tell about our vacation plan yet, except “We are going on vacation!” All six of us: me, hubby, two kids (5 yo boy and 14 months baby), my mom and our nanny.

Oh I can’t believe it’s December already! Well that means… it’s time to change the theme! I know there are other important things I should pay attention to, more posts or more traffic for example, not just being busy with the looks of the blog. But I just can’t help it. When December comes the first thing comes to my mind is “Oh gotta change the themes!!!”

I was so lucky I didn’t have to spend much time searching for a new theme. I saw this free Christmas theme last night, and fell in love with it instantly! Though it’s kinda “old” since it was made two years ago, so some of the latest WP features were not included. But I love the colors very much! It’s my favorite Christmas color, maroon! Looks beautiful and makes me feel so festive

I may need to do some tweaking later though, to make it works the way I want it. Or maybe just leave it like this, after all it’s only for a month!

Though we don’t celebrate Halloween here, but I couldn’t help noticing Google Doodle logos for this year Halloween. There are five, yes not only one but five, pictures featuring Scooby-Doo! Scooby-Doo is one of my favorite cartoons back when I was a kid. Their ability to solve mystery never fail to amaze me.

If you see the pictures one by one you’ll see they’re actually telling a story and my mind started to create one just for me…

It happens on Halloween… there’s a ghost trying to scare and steal candy from little kids. The little kids later tell Fred, Daphne, Velma, Shaggy and Scooby about what happens. Of course the Mystery Inc crews will say there’s no such thing as ghost so they decide to investigate the case.
