As I mentioned in previous post I was asked to look for a new laptop for my office work. Since I haven’t followed the latest development in computer technology for quite awhile, I spent almost two days searching on the net to get information about the latest laptop. I also asked my brother and his IT geek friends’ opinions, and called my computer distributors to find out about their stocks and prices. Finally, this morning I emailed my purchase request to the office. I gave them two choices of laptop.
My first choice is HP Pavilion dv4-1532TX Moonlight White from HP Pavilion dv4t entertainment series
Take a look at her, isn’t she a beauty?
HP Pavilion dv4-1532TX comes in two color choices espresso black and moonlight white. I chose the white one. It’s a Core2 Duo laptop with 3GB DDR3, 500GB HDD, DVD±RW, NIC, WiFi, Bluetooth, Fingerprint, VGA NVIDIA GeForce G105M 512MB, Camera, 14.1″ WXGA, and genuine Win7 Home Premium.
The distributor’s quote was US$ 1,160 or US$60 higher than the company’s US$ 1,100 budget, but I’m sure our purchasing department can handle this. That was their first quote anyway so we still can bargain. Below is its detail specifications.
Platform Notebook PC with Intel Centrino Duo Technology Processor Type Intel Core 2 Duo Processor Processor Onboard Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor P7550 (2.26 GHz, FSB 1066, Cache 3 MB) Chipset Intel 45PM Standard Memory 3GB DDR3 System Memory (2 DIMM) Max. My second choice is HP Pavilion dm3-1028TX from HP Pavilion dm3t series.
There’s no color choice in this series, all come in black. HP Pavilion dm3-1028TX is claimed to have stamina to go all day! It is powered by Intel’s ultra-low-voltage with Core2 Duo SP9300, 4GB DDR3, 500GB HDD, NIC, WiFi, Bluetooth, VGA NVIDIA GeForce G105M 512MB, Camera, 13.3″ WXGA, External DVD±RW, Win7 Home Premium.
Its dimension is only 32.6 x 3.18 x 23 cm and weight 1.91 kg. Much smaller and lighter than the dv4t series which is good for me! However naturally its display size is also smaller which only 13.3″ compare to dv4t series that has 14.1″ screen.
The distributor’s quote for this model was US$ $1,060 so it’s still under the company’s US$ 1,100 budget. Here’s its detail specifications.
Platform Notebook PC Processor Type Intel Core 2 Duo Processor Processor Onboard Intel® Core™2 Duo processor SP9300 (2.26 GHz, FSB 1066, Cahce 6 MB) Chipset Intel 45GS Standard Memory 4 GB DDR3 SDRAM PC-8500 Max. There! I’ve done my job looking for a new laptop. Now it’s up to the company which one they are going to buy. Whatever their choice is I will not be able to use it until I come back to work next month. Still three weeks left to enjoy my leave

I have the top one and I love it!!! I wasn’t sure if you’d gotten it yet, so I wanted to give you a testimonial. I have the white one and I just really love it!! It’s a 17″ screen also and I almost prefer working on this to my desktop. Happy Holidays!
Oh thank you, sounds great! I haven’t got it though, but I knew I would love it, I always love HP laptop.
Happy holiday to you too
