Hunting For A New Laptop

I got a call from my boss yesterday, she asked me to find a new laptop for me. She said my five-year-old HP was already out of date and it was time to buy a new one. She let me choose my own laptop as usual as she trusts my choices. However, she limited the budget at maximum USD 1,100. Well, based on personal experience, my choice will be another HP laptop because so far I never get trouble with their products.

I was so excited hearing her call, though I love my current laptop, but my boss was right it’s getting out of date. My current laptop is an HP (I forget the type) with Pentium 4 processor and 512 Mb DDR. She’s like a soul mate to me for the last five years, so it’s gonna be hard to not seeing her on my desk when I’m coming back to the office after my maternity leave next month!

I’ll start hunting during the weekend :)

Time To Decorate The House

Two weeks before Christmas, we finally started to decorate the house. It’s a little bit late because we’ve been busy preparing for my son’s Christmas event at school this Saturday. He will dance and sing that day and needs new clothes, shoes, also a Santa’s hat. We already bought them all during weekend. I also took times to see his rehearsals yesterday and seemed he did fine. This is going to be his first Christmas performance at school so I try to support him whenever I can.

Anyway, for our house Christmas decoration we decided to focus on the baby as we believe he will still become the center of anyone’s attention who come to our house during Christmas holiday. So we’re not going to decorate the whole house, only a few spots where we always put our baby, like the baby’s room, dining room and a corner in our living room. It will save our energy and money too compare to decorate the whole house.

Rain’s Jakarta Concert

It was one big event for Korean drama/celebrity lovers in Jakarta. Rain, the top Korean hip hop singer, came to Jakarta on his Asia Tour and held a concert last Thursday, December 3rd, 2009 at JITEC Mangga Dua.

I have to admit I’m a big fan of him, fell in love with him since his drama series “Full House” few years back. Though I don’t follow Korean drama religiously as I used to, I still occasionally buy his DVD movies or CD album. Feel like teenagers again, lol.

I was really tempted to go to the concert, it must be fun to join the clouds, but decided not to. Couldn’t leave my baby. Hopefully there will be a DVD of his concert in Jakarta soon ;)

Anyway, here’s a clip from his concert last Thursday.

A Sad Week

Our beloved aunt (my dad’s sister) who lived in Surabaya, East Java, passed away last Thursday morning, I heard the sad news on my way back from dropping off my mom at the airport. The night before my cousin called me informing that my aunt was held at the hospital since Tuesday morning and she kept asking about my mom. So I told my cousin that I would send my mom with first flight to Surabaya the next morning.

At first, I was concerned about my mom travelling alone with her current eyes condition after having several eye treatments. But my mom insisted to go because my aunt is not only her best sister in law but also becoming her best friend. They talked a lot on the phone especially after my dad died two years ago. So I made an arrangement with the airline and they agreed to provide a wheelchair and help her going in and out the airplane.

Unfortunately, it was too late. Just when I was out from the airport my cousin called saying that his mom passed away at 7.30, it was the same time as my mom’s flight schedule.

Yesterday my brother and I made a day trip to Surabaya to attend her funeral. I couldn’t stay long because I left my baby at home with husband and son. I didn’t even had a chance to ask what really happened. My mom and brother still in Surabaya to company my two cousins for a few days.

Rest in peace aunt Lena, we will miss your jokes, laughs and especially stories about dad’s childhood.
