My Mom Had A Capsulotomy Procedure
I went to Jakarta Eye Center with my mom yesterday, she had a morning appointment with her ophthalmologist. It was supposed to be a routine 6 month post glaucoma and cataract surgery check up. However, during the check up my mom complained that she thought her cataract had come back again because her vision became blurry lately, but the doctor said cataract would never return after surgery. He said sometimes hazy vision happened to some patients after cataract surgery and he recommended a posterior capsulotomy procedure in order to make her vision clear again. He convinced us that it was a very simple procedure that could be done right that minute.
We didn’t have to think twice to agree with the doctor’s advise. Learning from our experience we surely didn’t want to repeat the mistakes we had done in the past. My mom’s right eye is now permanently damage due to glaucoma, her previous doctor at different hospital failed to diagnose it until it was too late. Thank God we still could save her left eye after we changed to another ophthalmologist. She had a glaucoma and cataract surgery all at once last year. Maybe later I will make a post about this.
So my mom took the YAG laser capsulotomy procedure yesterday. The entire procedure only took less than ten minutes. First the ophthalmologist gave dilating eye drops on the eye then told my mom to wait outside. About five minutes later he called her back in and asked her to sit still in front of the laser equipment (I don’t know how to call it and I wish I had my camera with me yesterday). One minute later he said it was done, so fast. It’s not expensive either, it costs her only about US$ 100.
The ophthalmologist said my mom’s vision should improve few hours after the procedure. He also gave prescription for the next five days. Let’s hope everything will be fine.
Quick Respond From Adgitize
Good service Adgitize! My other blog that has Adgitize advertiser and publisher account was suspended last night. I found out about it this morning when I opened my blog and saw Adgitize 40 instead of 100 under the ads. I was sure I already reached 100 last night so how come it down to 40 overnight? So I called my brother, my co writer on that blog and the one who holds the Adgitize account details, to check what happened, and within 10 minutes it was fixed!
Apparently we got carried away in experimenting the number of ads showing in that blog and accidentally violated Adgitize TOS, oops sorry Ken! Now, it’s back to normal again. Good job Adgitize. I wish I could say the same to my other network!
When Is The Time To Tell Your Firstborn You’re Pregnant?
Most pregnancy guides I read on the net say it is best to wait until the pregnancy is well established before we tell our firstborn that means sometime after the first trimester. Others recommend waiting until you start showing the pregnancy, or at least until you are ready to tell the rest of the world you’re pregnant. Well, if your tummy starts to grow it’s kinda hard not to tell everybody you’re pregnant, don’t you think so?
Anyway, I started having conversation with my son about having a baby shortly after my OB/GYN confirmed my pregnancy. I didn’t tell him right away, but started by asking questions like whether he likes to have a younger sibling, or does he want to have someone to play with in the house, etc. And his first reaction was NO! I guess he’s been comfortable enough being the only child in the house.
Thankfully, as I always talk about having little sibling, now he starts to accept my pregnancy. Every morning he will say good morning to my belly and when I go to work he will hug me and says “Bye bye mama, bye bye little baby!” As about sharing his favorite toys, Thomas the Tank Engine, with his future sibling, he said, “The baby can have Diesel!” FYI Diesel is his least favorite engine, lol. I think he’s not ready to share his favorite toys yet.
So in contrast of the experts said in the net, I will say I’m glad that I told my son as early as possible because obviously he needs sometimes to accept it. If I waited until my second trimester (means now) before I told him, I’m not sure if I would have enough time and energy to talk about it.

Finally We Had A Trip Again
Yesterday we had a one day trip to Taman Safari, Puncak. It was our first family trip during my second pregnancy. Now that I’m at my second trimester, things are getting better, no more (or at least lesser) morning sickness, nausea or moody days, so we decided to have a vacation.
At first we planned to stay in Puncak area for the weekend, but we couldn’t get a decent place (with a decent price, off course) to stay so it was just a one day trip. Anyway, it was good to see my little boy enjoying a real vacation again. For the last 3 months his “vacation” has been limited to the mall and grocery stores. Enjoy the rest of the weekend everybody
